About

I've been a working photojournalist since 1972. I was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 1980 for "Living the Cambodian Nightmare." The majority of my work has been in newspapers covering a wide variety of subjects and people. I published a book "Yosemite, A Landscape of Life" during the centennial celebration of Yosemite National Park; a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Feature Photography in 1991. I traveled with the Sacramento Ballet to China in 2007 for the company's first foreign tour pf Shanghai and Beijing and produced a book, "China En Pointe." I lived central Oregon from 2007-21 and my work there was with the Deschutes Land Trust and the Sisters Folk Festival. Since 2007 I have completed archiving my photographic work and donating over 40,000 images to several historical libraries in Yosemite, Louisville, Denver and Sacramento.
