JOHN EDER BIO
I was born at the dawn of the space age, in Huntington, New York. When I was four my family moved to Naples, Florida, so I consider myself a southerner and a Floridian. My Dad was a schoolteacher and my Mom stayed home. I attended University of Florida, where I was inspired to go into photography by the work of Helmut Newton and Diane Arbus. I also draw inspiration from illustrators, specifically Jack Kirby, Jim Steranko and Bill Elder. I moved to NYC in the 80s, where I assisted all sorts of photographers and worked a million odd jobs. I went west to L.A. in the early 90s, living here ever since. My career has mutated with the times, finding first success in the music biz, moving onto ads and stock imagery from there. Photography has enabled me to travel the world, from Thailand to Detroit. My single greatest accomplishment is my 11 year old daughter, who is the apple of mein eye.
