About

Jon Slade believes in hard work and being nice to others. Jon primarily shoots portraiture, landscape, and documentary images. His works feature conceptual themes with a clear focus on complete bodies of work. Jon’s photographs have been exhibited nationally and locally, garnering awards, while also donating work to auctions benefiting local charities.
Having begun his career in film photography, Jon knows his way around a darkroom and continues to develop techniques in many forms of photography. He has begun to satisfy his compulsion to “make things with his hands” by implementing hand-made bookbinding, 19th century collodion wet plate processes, and prop design with his photography, which brings balance to the rigors of academic requirements. Jon says, “Algebra is sadistic,” yet after having considered its power in regards to photography and compound interest loans, he has admittedly surrendered to its importance as he pursues a BFA in Photography.
