Jürgen Katzengruber, born 1971 in Austria, costume designer and photographer.
Studies at Vienna’s university for applied Arts, masterclass for fashion design. He was lucky to call designers like Vivienne Westwood, Marc Bohan and Helmut Lang his teachers.
Graduated with a diploma in 1996, he began doing wardrobe in a small theater in Vienna. This universe, until than quite unknown for him, had a great impact on his personal and professional development.
Since 2002, he lives in France, near the city of Vendôme (region Centre).
As artist and costume designer for professional theater productions, he is fascinated by the multitude of human expressions, fashions and styles, and the question how to make history in costumes alive. He tries to express his ideas through clothes he designs for theater, for his own and self-directed photosessions or for any other occasion, where the creation of a garment can be interesting and useful.
