My work is a metaphysical embellishment of a hinterland dreamscape based on the necessity to escape from the complexities of life. Within this ethereal landscape, heroines and villainesses wander about, accompanied by their spirit animals that they maternally protect. These women possess a joyful serenity that comes only to those who are in harmony with the universe. Congested majestic patterns lead the way to their mystical destination, in hopes of maintaining their world of peace and wisdom. They feel an inherent responsibility to nurture and harvest their fertile fields, as a way of giving prowess to the delicate earth that created them. These ornately fashioned mythological females are inspired from various forms of primeval folklore that resonate within my psyche. Like many historical cultures, these warrior muses embody supernatural powers, myths, taboos and ritual ceremonies, as a way of renouncing adversity. They fight for their integrity and inspire me to live accordingly.
