About

The:artist:network was launched in 2002,
with the aim of establishing a network of cross-cultural and interdisciplinary exchanges.
By focusing on an organic growth of international communities rather than on individuals, the:artist:network is able to reinforce and channel already existing networks to provide an arena within which both international and American artists can broaden and extend their scope for ideas.
In 2006, the:artist:network has extended it's area of focus to the city of Beijing. It has established a base of operations in the 798 arts district, concved and executed large scale international and chinese exhibitions, and founded an artist in residency program hosted in newly constructed artist studios. In 2009, the:artist:network initiated the first independent 798 Beijing Biennale presenting over 200 International and Chinese artists.
