Mark Holmgren is the Director of Vibrant Communities Canada for Tamarack Institute, a network of nearly 100 communities working locally to reduce poverty. He also consults to communities on community change and teaches throughout the year at numerous Tamarack learning events.
Other positions held include serving as the CEO of Bissell Centre in Edmonton and holding executive positions with two United Ways, the executive director of Operation Friendship, and the COO of a software development company. Mark also taught leadership at MacEwan University.
As a fiction writer and poet, Mark has published in numerous literary publications and has performed his work on CBC Radio. He is also a singer-song writer and played such venues as the Edmonton Folk Music Festival and North Country Fair.
