Massimo Mastrorillo was born in Turin, Italy, and lives in Rome.
He graduated in photography at the European Institute of Design in Rome.
He has been working essentially on long term documentary projects in Mozambique, Turkey, Iraq, Indonesia and Italy. From the year 2005 to the year 2007 he worked on The Width of the Line, a personal project about 9 cities in the world. He is a multi-awarded photographer. Among the awards: the World Press Photo, the Pictures of the Year International, the Best of Photojournalism, the PDN’s Photo Annual, the International Photographer of the Year at the 5th Annual Lucie Awards, the Sony World Photography Awards.
