Norma Cordova almost wasn't a photographer. One day she borrowed her husband's camera just for fun. When her husband saw her photographs, he gave up photography and gave her the camera.
She is no purist and won't let dogmas get in the way of capturing her vision. "Photography is photography, but in my mind's eye or the particulars of the situation... it's the final image that matters."
Cordova has exhibited her work as a member of dandelionblack seven times since 2004, and has exhibited at The California Modern Art Gallery, and The AR Space Gallery. The Dutch and U.K. editions of Esquire have both published Cordova's work, as have WIRE, Riot (Australia), THEME, and local magazines SOMA, and Ethsix, a joint product of the schools of Journalism and Social Work at UC Berkeley. Online, her works have graced the virtual pages of mooncruise.com (issue 19), and sunny16.ca (issue 2).
