My Bio
|
Every work of art embodies an extravagance of meaning that transcends words. My abstract paintings are expressive, articulating what I feel and cannot say. Always emanating from inspiration, the essence of my art is captured by Andre Breton’s words: “Beloved imagination, what I most like in you is your unsparing quality.” When I paint, I have the expansive sense of a soul expressing and creating beyond its horizons. Inspired by changes in metropolitan communities, my paintings seek to define the intersection of daily urban life and timeless multicultural celebration, with red as the symbol of the heartbeat and life of the city. I am intrigued by the interplay of the fluid & static elements of the urban matrix, as is referenced in the architectonic images, reflections, and rhythms of my work. I desire to explore and experience what I can create with my hands and my mind. I am, & always will be, in the process of learning. Every new work is somehow expected and, in more ways, surprising.
