Oliver Shipe retired as a high school administrator after first being a classroom teacher, basketball coach, and school system athletic director. After high school graduation Oliver attended the Universtity of Tennessee on a track scholarship then enlisted in the U.S. Navy for a 4 year tour of duty. He then returned to the academic setting attending Tusculum College, and East Tenn. University. Oliver started his photography business while still in his education career. Oliver is an accomplished fine art, nature and wedding photographer. Oliver has photographed from Alaska to Maine to South Africa. This work has earned him numerous awards. One such award was being chosen as the Grand Prize winner of the photo contest presented by National Wildlife Magazine in 1992.
