I grew up in a small BC town and spent a lot of time outdoors. I dedicated hours a day to exploring the world in which I lived. I was always interested in nature and, since I was a bit of a tomboy, loved catching frogs, snakes and butterflies.

As I got a little older, I was inspired by Jacques Cousteau’s explorations. The world suddenly became much larger, and I knew I wanted to discover its people and places.

I've been very fortunate to get to some interesting and beautiful spots, camera usually in hand. Some of my favourite places include Australia, Thailand, Costa Rica, Italy and within Canada. Traveling to Newfoundland this past summer was truly inspirational. Being at the ocean, with good friends, was both calming and energizing. The landscape was truly awesome and the people even better.

I never know what's going to inspire me, which is one of the great joys of photography. I hope I'm still doing it at 90!
