I was born in Orkney in 1956, the eldest of seven children. I was brought up suffering mental and physical abuse by a violent drunken father, who never acknowledged me as his son. A childhood lived in fear and humiliation, at the hands of a man who was capable of evil and sadistic acts. This is the true story of a childhood lost, and the struggles to overcome the mental anguish inflicted on me, throughout my young life, continuing into adulthood. I am married with four children, and seven grandchildren. My story had to be told, so that I could set my inner demons free.
