Poet and writer Pilar C. Niebla (Pily Nieblas) was born in the city of Holguin, East of Cuba. At the age of four, she could read and write and at the age of ten, she started to write short stories and brief novels –manuscripts she has yet to finish.
While at Primary school in her native town, Pilar won every creative writing contest at her school in which she competed. She also won twice the highest award for children of her age offered in the entire Province of Holguin –where almost two million people reside.
Her compositions and stories were read each week out loud to all the students at the Raul Gomez Garcia, school of Arts where she was studying.
Pilar started to write poetry when she was eleven. Soon, she had a compilation of more than a hundred and fifty pages of poetry. Meanwhile she also wrote a few plays for class demonstrations and essays about the daily life of the Cuban teenagers at that time....
