| My Bio | Richard is a painter who happens to use the camera as a tool, much as he would a pen or pencil. But there is more to his photographs than simply sketching. Look closer and you may find a theme or a sensibility that permeates his pictures. Some people have described it as a kind of 'stillness', Richard prefers to think of it as a type of melancholy. That melancholy, he argues, is a parallel part of the process of Hermetic philosphy - a western belief system that is both moderate and flexible. From this perspective melancholy can thus be the source of inspired creative achievement. |
