Rokhaya Waring

Gloucester, MA, USA
About

A native of the North Shore of Boston with roots in France, Rokhaya's inspiration has always been based in direct observation of nature and mankind's imprint on it. Twenty summers of Plein Air painting in Provence have had a profound influence on all of her work.

Waring holds a BA from Princeton University and has her studio-gallery in Gloucester, MA. She has exhibited in dozens of solo and group shows internationally, including the Salon Des Artistes Français and the Salon d'Automne in Paris, and the Currier Museum of Art. Rokhaya's paintings are held in hundreds of collections. Notable private collectors include art dealer and appraiser for Antiques Roadshow: Carl Crossman; U.S. CTO: Todd Park (2009-14); tennis star Andre Agassi, and actress Brooke Shields.

Waring is also featured in the book "100 Artists of New England" (Schiffer 2011) and in: "The American Flag in Contemporary Art", (Schiffer, due late 2015).
