Influences are mostly the post-documentary photographers of the 70's like Winogrand, Shore, Meyerowitz, Friedlander, Eggleston and Diane Arbus.
I am also a fan of the previous generation of humanist photographers such as Robert Frank, Andre Kertesz, Robert Doisneau and Harry Callahan (who I overlooked long ago but who I eventually realised seems to have done it all years before anyone else).
Mustn't forget to mention the New Topographic photographers Lewis Baltz, Joe Deal and Robert Adams whose work was an epiphany to me as a photography student back in the early 80's at Trent Polytechnic in Nottingham and who got me hooked on the medium and fully appreciating its extraordinary value.
