John Scherz was born in 1951 in Cincinnati, beginning his antique career in 1956 carrying cowbells & brass candlesticks for the fabled Early Brother’s Memorial & Labor Day auctions. John’s father Clyde was an avid collector of any antique, from late 19th century German bisque snow babies & Rare hand painted Royal Vienna porcelain, to Limoges China, and Cranberry glass. Over the last 30 years, John has built 2 outstanding libraries; one, a world class military collection, and the other is dedicated to the study & authentication of antiques. John & wife Candice, have pursued their lifelong collecting as a team. John’s half century of study, resulted in his being named Director of Research for CatBecca auctions in 2003. Catbecca brought record gavel prices to sales such as Steven Lundberg's Personal Art Glass collection, and the Internationally acclaimed Fu-Ming-Fair Chinese estate. In 2006, John founded the Accurate Appraisals Partnership, to serve the antique estate evaluation market.
