JOAN COSTA - PHOTOGRAPHER

Spanish photographer Joan Costa began his career in 1988.

After working for many years in news photography at different newspapers and image agencies he changed to travel photography during a period of ten years.
In the last six years he specialized in science photography.

His images have been published at most prestigious newspapers and magazines as The New York Times, El País, Geo, Focus or National Geographic among others.

He is the author of photographic books of Belize, New Mexico, Ukraine, Russia and Ibiza.

He has produced many exhibitions and won different awards. The most important one has been the 2nd prize, Nature category of World Press Photo 2012 for a zooplankton image of Malaspina Expedition.

In the beginning of 2013 he works as an Artist in Residence for IOMRC (UWA, AIMS and CSIRO) in Perth, Australia
