I was born in Caraquet, New Brunswick, on July 5th 1918 as Marie Anne Duguay. Caraquet was an Acadian village with a strong mix of English and French history. I lived here until 1942 when I got married and soon afterwards moved to Ontario where three of our four children were born. For most of my life I worked as a school teacher. I retired from this profession several years ago and I'm now spending my golden years in a retirement home, with my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren living close by.
