I seek to capture in my work the mundane darkness of urban decay along with its grunge that creeps just out of sight of our well-ordered consumer lives. I especially love B&W photography, as I feel it transcends the momentary Maya-like illusion of colour, instead revealing a world wrought from the hidden play of shadows and light.

I suppose, I’m drawn toward the lighting techniques of Film Noir and its associated literature because it aligns with my own jaded cynicism towards many of society’s consumerist values and its institutions.
