Commissioned by publishers and advertising agencies to create artwork for postage stamps, book and magazine covers, posters and apparel, her work has won numerous awards, residencies and artists grants. She has served as juror for National Juried Shows, is a resident member of the Salmagundi Club, American Women Artists, The American Artists Professional League, Art Students League, Oil Painters of America, Ridgewood Art Institute and The Edward Hopper House Museum.
"Brushing strokes of energy on canvas I try to express the
innate beauty of Nature. Whether I am exploring the abstract
possibilities of paint or adhering directly to a plein air scene
or still life one thing remains constant~ I remain mesmerized by the beauty of light. It is my intention to create serene but compelling images while preserve the landscape. " Barrasi is represented by several galleries in the tri-state area.
