I retired as a clinical social worker after 35 years in the Social Work field. While working in a mental health agency I did training in the area of death and dying for staff, interns and volunteers. I have been a hospice volunteer for 9 years. I have not published any poems before and don't write poems generally. However, motivated by grief at the loss of my wife I was able to do so and believe anyone is capable of also doing so as a way of expressing their loss.
