CAROLYN DEMERITT

A native of Charlotte, NC, Carolyn DeMeritt is a self-taught photographer and videographer who has worked at her craft for over thirty years. Through personal interaction with her subjects, she concentrates on creating portraits of people underrepresented or undergoing dramatic changes.

DeMeritt has exhibited widely. Selected exhibition venues include SECCA, National Museum of Women in the Arts, Levine Museum of the New South, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and North Carolina Museum of Art. Video screenings include festivals in NY, CA, Germany, and Korea. Her work is in numerous public and private collections.
