Founded in late 2006, Helios Media is a culmination of a life-long dream of its principal publisher, Nelson Agustin, who loved books and art. Helios Media takes the direction of an alternative, independent publisher in Vancouver.

Named for the Greek god of the sun, who was the attributed patron of the arts and omnipotent knowledge, Helios Media aims to make published media accessible to people using today's emerging technologies.

Helios Media publishes art, photography, gay and lesbian literature, novelty and gift books in both the traditional book and electronic formats.
