About

I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Manitoba working under the supervision of Dr. Micheline Manseau. I am interested in an approach to conservation that generates a permeable interface between research and society by respecting the lives and experiences of people that live and depend on the land. I have a strong interest in art which provides a complement to my academic career. I approach both art and science as explorations of the natural world as they each arise out of the process of noticing patterns in behavior, space, and time. I currently pursue drawing and photography as a hobby, but continually seek to find new ways to integrate art with my interest in ecology, teaching, and conservation. My long term goal is to find innovative ways to translate ideas and concepts between worldviews and cultures to promote a more thorough and mutually affirming understanding of wildlife conservation.
