Watercolour artist Marvin Chew, was born in 1975 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

He started painting in pastel and learned Chinese calligraphy in primary school. He then switched to watercolour during his teen. His pursuit of watercolour art was temporarily put on hold when he did his accounting studies in New Zealand, and thereafter started working as an audit assistant in Singapore in 1998.

He picked up his brushes again in 2002, while learning under the guidance of a respectable Singaporean artist Mr Loy Chye Chuan. Marvin is now a member of Singapore Watercolour Society since 2004, and currently serves as its Vice-President.

The past few years have seen Marvin grew from a young promising artist to become one of the most talented young watercolour artists in this region.
