About

I was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a teenager, I learned the fundamentals of 35mm photography and darkroom techniques from my father. My photographs from that period reflected my fascination with the old flour mills located in the heart of the Twin Cities as well as the locks and dams situated up and down the Mississippi river. I set aside my photographic pursuits after a flood destroyed my equipment and images. I relocated to Washington, D.C. in 1987 and rediscovered photography in 2001 when a friend gave me a 35mm camera as a gift. About two years later I purchased a digital camera and, fascinated by the possibilities the camera and computer software offered, immersed myself in photographic pursuits. My current work includes an extensive collection of images from the U.S. Botanic Garden. Other areas of interest include fine art and black and white photography.
