Geoff Smith lives in Brooklyn, New York. He was born in Mount Kisco, New York in 1970 and grew up in the suburban Northeast. After high school he moved to California where he attended the California State University, Chico, receiving a BA in Information and Communication Studies with an emphasis in Media Arts in 1993. Settling in San Francisco after college, he worked in tech-nology and new media for ten years. In 2005 he moved back to the East Coast to pursue photography full-time. He lives with his wife, the writer Orli Van Mourik and their daughter Scarlet. Signal Nodes is his first book of photographs.

Photographer/artist interested in exploring notions of home, place, photography's history as an evidentiary medium and more through on-going long-term projects and assignments.
