Prior to settling on photography full-time, Johanna was a creature of the theater, appearing in over 30 plays in Mexico, New York, and Los Angeles. She also wrote several plays (one of which she produced and directed), and directed almost a dozen full-length productions in Los Angeles.

In addition, she is a published author (The Tao of Tango, www.TaoOfTango.com), and a professional Tango Dancer.
