About

My photography world in a nutshell: early fascination with old black and white photographs of my family, my first Instamatic camera with the old flash cubes, advancing to 35mm film once I could afford a decent camera, and finally transitioning to today's digital world; photography has been a part of my life. Most has been self taught through books (yup, old school style) and more recently with on-line videos - but I did enjoy great classes at the Toledo Museum of Art and local colleges. Beginning with my time in the Air Force, traveling in the world of consulting, and with my last 23 years at the University of Michigan, I've been afforded opportunities to observe places and activities that many never have the opportunity to visit.

I recently retired as Executive Director of the department of Environment, Health & Safety for the University of Michigan that involved coordinating and facilitating safety and environmental compliance for campus operations.
