Poet Thao Chuong is the pen name of collage artist Viet Tran who wrote poetry and published three books in his mother tongue. He loves poetic combination in rhymes and rhythms between the Japanese Haiku and Vietnamese poetry.
He also composed poems in English in different styles and has three books published.
In fine art, collage artist Viet Tran celebrates both chaos and orders through his painterly paper collages. As a “paper collage” purist,
Tran does not apply oil, acrylic, or any other media on his works. Tran used collage as an art therapy during his two years in Galang Refugee Camp. Tran has settled in Victoria, B.C., Canada since 1987.
