| My Bio |
Irish Social Photographer, focusing on the Dublin, Limerick and Belfast urban landscapes. Influences: Punk D.I.Y. attitude; Henri Cartier-Bresson; Fergus Bourke; Yousuf Karsh; Pablo Picasso; Sergio Leone; Martin Scorsese; Joy Division; The Clash; The Ramones ... History: Inspired by the colour of Punk, in the grey Dublin of the 1980s, accidently fell in love with film photography. Fully self taught, after the purchase of a digital camera in 2006, the obsession re-commenced. Since April 2007 I have been charting the daily lives of Dubliners of all different types, in their home environment, from Inner city Dublin, to Ballymun. Capturing unique people doing what they do, in their natural state, whether that is happy, sad ,laughing, having fun ,mischievous or just survival . Making the ordinary look special, and exhibiting something thats real, alive , hidden and different -- thats the aim - displaying the unspeakable. Making art accessible to all and not just the Elite. |
