My Bio
|
I am a freelance photojournalist and writer working from a base Birmingham.
I have a first class honours degree in Visual Communications (photography) from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD)
I specialise in photographing people and places...in the news...or who should be in the news.
I try and tell stories with photography, especially about the strengths of working class people doing things for themselves.
I am a Brummie by birth and proud of my roots in the industrial heartlands of the United Kingdom.
I am willing to accept commissions for photographic and journalistic work of any nature.
Please contact me any time and let me tell your story.

Things I Don't Mind The World Knowing
|
Spoiler alert: I'm thinking my next book will be about... |
|
A development fof my work about the isle fo Eigg, called provisionally "Land Without a Laird" working with the islanders themselves to make a photographic record of their lives. |

Everyone needs to know about these authors and artists... |
These are the three photographic works that most influence me “The Americans” Robert Frank Must be just about the most famous photographic book ever published and certainly the most influential. "Deep South" by Sally Mann Her work bears the repeated viewing and the emotional qualities of Turner or even Picasso. "Raised by Wolves" by Jim Goldburg No polemic or fake concern; Goldburg stands aside from his subject and observes with a cool eye the reality of lives. |
