The Vail Jazz Foundation was established in 1995 with the mission to perpetuate the jazz art form through live performance and education programs, with an emphasis on developing young musicians and young audiences.

The Vail Jazz Festival is an annual celebration of jazz including three key concert series: Sunday Jazz at Solaris, Jazz at Vail Square, and the Vail Jazz Labor Day Weekend Party. The Foundation also operates two educational programs; Jazz Goes to School is a free program for Eagle County 4th and 5th graders where they learn about jazz and US history. The Vail Jazz Workshop brings together a dozen of the most talented high school jazz musicians in the world for a 10 day intensive workshop.
