About

What photographer doesn't describe their first life-changing experience with a camera as a child? Susan does that too. Then she got a Leica. There was no going back. The quiet shutter of the M6 combined with Leitz lenses and top quality film allow detail to be brought out with superior clarity. Susan is passionate about the control she has over the processing of the final print in her darkroom.

In June 2006, Susan had a solo exhibit at a Taos, NM art gallery of a series of photographs of Moscow and Siberia. She concentrated on capturing the changes taking place in Russia as the country transitions out of the Soviet era. One of the show (The Magazine, Santa Fe, NM) declared that the photos were reminiscent of Henri Cartier-Bresson. The signature piece - the close up of St. Basil's - was featured in the 2006 Taos Art Museum Gala auction.

All photographs in the book are available from the author as silver gelatin prints.
