I was a professional miniaturist for many years before moving to California in 1989 (from Massachusetts), when I entered the film-industry, building mechanical and scale-models for such films as "Total Recall" and "Titanic". Now, semi-retired, I use Blurb software to build photo-text books about work I did as a collector's miniaturist, and film model-maker...(and I spend a lot of time on my motorcycle!).

See my website at www.georgewjones.com for pics and bio (or Google my name: georgewjones...look for "Movie Models & Miniatures"; that's me).
I'm an expert (TIG) welder and machinest, although, most of my work is done by "hand", using Dremel and other such hobby and consumer-based tools and equipment. I use a lot of dental equipment as well...whatever my dentist doesn't need any more and is willing ti give me.

Things I Don't Mind The World Knowing

Spoiler alert: I'm thinking my next book will be about...
I've been in the movie business (and collectible miniatures) since the mid-late 80's. I developed the habit of chronicling my work with photographs, with the intention, not to publish (at that time), but to teach.
By 2006, I realized that I had enough material to create several (understating it) "how-to" guides...or, coffee-table books! My first book published in 2007, and was followed closely by another, which was published in 2008. I am currently working on a 3rd.
Everyone needs to know about these authors and artists...
Emmanuel Velikovsky, who, after 25 years of ostracism from Harvard University and other such elite circles of influence, was invited there to defend his theories, once rejected by the scientific community. "Is there anyone here, who will stand up and defend Newtonian's theory of Gravitation and Enertia"?, Velikovsky cried aloud to a full but silent room. "Eh"?, he screamed in an even louder voice, evoking an even quieter response from the room. Read: "Worlds in Collision".
This book is addictive. Read it. (At your own risk.)
I am not a religious man; I was raised without religion, was given no doctrines to believe, nor rituals to practice. But I find the following books (and chapters) compelling: Daniel and Revelation; Ephesians chapter 4 and Revelation chapter 20; Matthew 24, and Luke 17 (and 21); Matthew 24 and 25. Revelation 13 and 14, read with understanding; 1-Thessalonians 4:16 (The dead in-Christ shall rise first). Finally: "The 3 little Pigs"
