About

Dutch-born Yona Verwer received her Masters in Fine Arts from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, The Netherlands. A former artist-in-residence at the Studio Program at PS 122 in New York, she has shown in numerous galleries in New York and in Europe.

Featured in 3 solo shows in the Netherlands and New York, her work has also appeared in venues such as the Andy Warhol Factory, the Bronx Museum, NY, the Center for Jewish History in New York, the Allentown Art Museum, PA, and the Port of History Museum in Philadelphia.

She completed residencies at the Makor¬-Steinhardt Center and at the Skirball Center in NYC and is currently finishing a large-scale mural installation at the SAR High School, Riverdale, NY.

She has been featured in publications such as the the New Yorker, the New York Times, , the Daily News, the Forward, Jewish week, Jewish Press and Zeek.

She is the co-founder of the Jewish Art Salon in NYC.
