About the Creator
Cheryl O’Neal Hoke is an environmental, concert, and fine arts photographer from Charlotte, NC. Cheryl received her Associate in Fine Arts from Central Piedmont Community College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from University of North Carolina at Charlotte, May 2020. Hoke was a recipient of the “Kappy McClenaghan Memorial Scholarship,” 2016 and the “Thomas E. Cato Scholarship,” 2018. Cheryl’s work is in the permanent collection of the CPCC Foundation. In 2016. Cheryl was the Official Photographer for North Carolina at the National Geographic: Geographic Bee, 2016. Her recent work includes photographic macro abstractions and an ongoing documentary study of environmental effects of coal ash pollution. Her work was exhibited, May 2016, May 2017 in the “Juried Student Art Show” at CPCC, and February 2020 “Annual Juried Student Exhibition” at UNCC. Her mixed media collaborative, “Truth and Beauty” is exhibited at UNCC. Cheryl’s BFA exhibition, “Render Visible” opens April 2020,
