About the Book
Sam Kanter’s third book of Street Photography, "The Light Fantastic", departs from his previous book of black and white photos, "Bus Ride", shot over a five-year period on New York City’s transit buses. This new collection features all color street photo work culled from 2008-2020.
From the foreword by Lisbeth Davidow:
“I was practically born in a darkroom,” Sam told me. His father, an avid photographer, converted the darkroom in his Upper West Side apartment into a nursery for his new son. “My father, brother and uncle were all ardent photographers,” he added. Maybe that’s partly why these photos are so striking: Not only did Sam grow up around photography, it’s in his DNA.
