About the Book
From the foreword by Lisbeth Davidow:
“I was practically born in a darkroom,” Sam told me. His father, an avid photographer, converted the darkroom in his Upper West Side apartment into a nursery for his new son. “My father, brother and uncle were all ardent photographers,” he added. Maybe that’s partly why these photos are so striking: Not only did Sam grow up around photography, it’s in his DNA.
Sam Kanter is a photographer and musician who lives, works and teaches in New York City. A recipient of awards from The National Endowment for the Arts, he shoots in the streets of NYC every day, and has just released his third book of Street Photography.
