About the Creator
Bill Shumaker
Maine, USA
Bill Shumaker has pursued amateur photography for over 45 years. Mostly self-taught, he has studied photography at the Maine College of Art and at Maine Media Workshops; his photos have been exhibited in galleries in Maine, Vermont, South Carolina and Texas. He works with photocomposites and photoillustrations alongside straight photography, using whatever technique will most effectively realize an image's artistic potential. Mystery, ambiguity, the interaction of natural and geometrical form, and the persistence of history are dominant themes in his work. He lives in Portland with his wife and two cats.
