About the Book
I became a digital artist in the months after my kids gave me an iPad for Christmas one year. It took some time to figure out what to do with it besides playing Angry Birds. I’d been interested in creating digital art on my Mac, but without specialized hardware, it was unproductive. Stumbling into the state-of-the art digital drawing apps on the iPad in 2014 fired up some long dormant interests in drawing and painting. I retired from my corporate career in late 2015, and immediately enrolled in some great art classes at North Seattle College. During the 2016 presidential campaign I began toying with political cartooning. The startling election of Donald Trump inspired the creation of what became an ongoing series of political panels, a massive undertaking, 4 1/2 years of virtually non-stop drawing. I called the series “Fat-Hair” after the famous combover, and have now compiled the nearly 700 drawings of the series into a two-volume set of softcover books now available here on Blurb.
