About the Book
Trees speak to us, look at us, accompany us, protect us, give us the air to breathe. Nature printed in negative wants to give the feeling of what our world would be like if we continue to destroy it. Plants, flowers, roots do not change their essence, their beauty, but they no longer exist. And we too without them. Even today, in ancestral places, the elements of nature serve to connect spiritually with the whole universe and the panoramas contextualize those places that are already attractive in themselves, but which with negative printing let us imagine places that no longer exist or may not exist more.
WoodBergs’12 Beginning as End, born as a project in 2012, is one of the seven works on the elements of nature (Mother and Land), flora, and negative printing (directly on aluminum) leads to a deeper reflection. It arouses attraction on the one hand, and anguish on the other, I search a reaction to my message: a better world is possible, it depends on you too. Love for nature is certainly influenced by Ansel Adams’ poetic vision, with a different language, first of all because I use color and then because I use negative, but love and story come, from a photographic point of view, from images narrated by Adams, while the concept is the fruit of my political experience. When we talk about our planet, more generally the Universe, we are talking about ourselves, about creation, about a Beauty that we have the duty to maintain. With this and other projects I use, when necessary, the negative point of view to raise the level of awareness on the consequences of our actions and get directly to the emotional chords of the viewer through surreal images. Those who make my message their own will be themselves bearers and active collaborators for the common goal: to safeguard Nature, the Mother Land.
