About the Ebook
German artist Thomas Zika is working with the medium of photography in a very experimental approach. In his artist book "complete persons" he shows fictious portraits, which are not photographs shot with a camera, but drawn by him on big negative film with translucent albumen colour. He creates his own "complete persons" by folding collages from female and male models used in fashion advertisings. For his drawings on acetate film he uses colours formerly used to retouch technical mistakes on analogue photographic negatives. The result is a disturbing pictorial fantasy about the failed or forced integration of the anima- and animus-archetypes into a person.
