About the Book
Pocket finds began as a way of documenting or remembering a certain place. Capturing the elements. The found, but also the forgotten or left behind. Rearranged for a moment they existed in a new form.

About the Creator
Tara Axford
Sydney, Australia
Tara Axford is a mixed media artist who works with prints, collage, mixed media, fibre arts, and photography. She draws inspiration from her surrounds, searching for patterns, textures and imperfections. The forgotten, the weathered, the discarded appeal to her. Exploring her surroundings and sense of place, she likes to ‘zoom in’ on an environment and work with that. Photographing found objects, ‘foraged’ natural elements and arranging them to be seen in different ways. She enjoys abstracting the essence of a place to create something new, so the viewer can also experience something they may have previously overlooked - with fresh eyes.
