About the Book
On their descent from Mt Kamet (July, 1931) a team of British mountaineers entered the Bhyundar Valley. Amazed by the diverse range of alpine flowers, they named it The Valley of Flowers. Through a collection of floral portraits, this book provides highlights of a blooming season. In botanical instances, I believe, words cannot adequately describe what you have seen and felt.
"Others will visit it, analyse it and probe it but, whatever their opinions, to me it will remain the Valley of Flowers, a valley of peace and perfect beauty where the human spirit may find repose" (Francis Smythe).
