About the Book
The Self Love Club opens up a conversation on sexual liberation and self-love. The purpose of this zine is to show a perspective on the sexual oppression found in conservative communities; specifically towards female and lgbtqia+ experiences. For women and lgbtqia+, sex and body positivity can be held down by cultural, relational, and generational shame. It is my goal for this project to create an environment that feels accessible to all walks of life, and all types of experiences. Everyone in this world wants to feel loved and accepted. No matter your race, gender, or the religious affiliation, we can collectively agree that loving yourself can be liberating. There is a huge wave of people leaving conservative communities and it is my hope that the Self Love Club can be a place for people to ask questions, feel safe, and discover new things about themselves. This project is for individuals looking to disrupt the status quo. May everyone who partakes, leave feeling empowered to take action and feel like they are worthy of love – especially within themselves.
