About the Book
Processing the Mundane is a love letter to film and alternative processing photography. This work is a mixture of film photography, cyanotypes and lumen prints. Walking the paths near the house I have lived in my entire life gave me a way to process all of the chaos in the world around me. Finding sparks of inspiration in the ordinary and capturing what that looks like through my eyes is what this work is about. Creating this work felt like a grounding experience in my artistic practice. Being forced to produce work in an academic setting these past several years is a privilege but also taxing to the soul. I felt like I needed to come back to who I was and what I want to share with others through my art. Though it may be ordinary to you, to me it's a collection of muses. I hope that we can all take moments in the midst of momentary chaos to appreciate the beauty in the mundane.
