About the Book
The direct translation of Ceol ón gCré is Earth Music. Music is the simplest translation of the word harmony in Irish. The sound of the Gaelic words is crucial. Each line begins with a capital letter in the translation, similar to a song in Irish. Poetry is the foundation of the Irish song tradition. It’s beautiful to think of these poems as the music of Earth, melodies bound together by the moon in the sky, and the ways of the sea. Though the Earth is humming with differing lives, so many seem to have traces of the two blues we’ll never really know. Unity is a remarkable thing.
